Cannabis Drinks are Dominating 2018 Beverages of Choice
From apple cider to non-alcoholic wine and coffee inbetween, cannabis drinks are center stage these days, and for good reason.
Recent reports by Bloomberg indicate that cannabis drinks are on target to surpass soda sales, the world over, by 2030! Considering that soda has been the beverage of choice for countless decades, this could be a mammoth coup for the cannabis space.
But, why are people shifting their interest to cannabis? According to recent research, consumers are becoming increasingly unaccepting of the detrimental effects of unhealthy beverages and are looking for healthier alternatives. Cannabis is a great place to start!
Soda is one beverage that has been demonized to the point of being labeled “worse than drinking detergent.” As this is happening, a lot of research around the health benefits of cannabis is being pushed into mainstream meda. As a result, beverage manufacturers are looking elsewhere to revamp their brand offerings, and cannabis has an enticing appeal.
During the BevNet Conference in June 2018, Erik Knutson (CEO of Keef Brands) remarked that beverages were the most exciting consumer good with a huge growth potential. Other beverage manufacturers are following suit to adapt to the needs of the time which is apparently non-alcoholic, cannabis-infused drinks. These are a few of our favorites:

It is intended as a social or recreational drink. Containing no artificial sugars, it is a good substitute for sweetened juice drinks. As far as cannabis drinks go, this one rises to the top. Delicious.

It comes in two versions; the first is infused with THC while the second is infused with both THC and CBD. Both are considered medicinal drinks with the full entourage effects of cannabinoids. Considering that they both contain THC, they can both get you tipsy.
Sauvignon Blanc Wine by Rebel Coast – Non Alcoholic Cannabis Wine
This is a non alcoholic cannabis wine that is manufactured by Rebel Coast Winery. The company claims that the drink “smells like weed and taste just like wine”. Each bottle contains 16 milligrams of THC, and taking a few glasses will get you relaxed, just as you would be with good quality wine. The available flavors include lemon grass, citrus and lavender.
Other cannabis drinks we have not mentioned include smoothies, cocktails and punches, which you can make for yourself at home. When infusing beverages or other edibles with cannabis, remember this two key points: cannabis is lipophillic so it’s better dissolved in an oily base, such as coconut oil. Secondly, cannabinoids evaporate beyond a certain temperature, so make sure to check what temperatures are safe and effective before you start “cooking.”
