Cannabis Has Restored My Body From Fibromyalgia, Seizures, and Neuropathy
Painkillers were stolen so Doc got me my card. Cannabis for fibromyalgia treatment has restored most of the life I lost.
In 2000, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Peripheral Neuropathy, Raynaud’s Syndrome and Non-Epileptic Seizure Disorder. I’ve always had a low seizure threshold, which means even on meds, I still have seizures. Thankfully, cannabis for fibromyalgia treatment has changed everything.
Within a couple years I was on Oxycontin, Vicodin, Ambien, Flexeril, and three anti-seizure meds and then a couple more to handle side effects.
In 2004, my son’s friend stole all my meds a couple hours after refilling them.
I immediately went to my doctor who told me that he was forbidden by law from replacing them. Then he excused himself, went into his office, and came back into the exam room with some paperwork. He told me that the health care corporation he worked for had a policy against it, but he was signing a medical cannabis card application for me. Then he pulled out his wallet and gave me the state fee in cash.
I did get through withdrawals, even with cannabis not something I want to repeat…
Cannabis Strains for Fibromyalgia Treatment
I started smoking flower, at first whatever I could get, then settled on Blue Dream, Train Wreck, Bubble Gum, Neville’s Haze and Jack Herer. Between them I found relief from pain, insomnia, AND my seizure frequency dropped dramatically.
In 2011, I had a traumatic brain injury which resulted in a blood clot on my pituitary gland. This left me with worse tremors and worse seizures, and an endocrine system that is completely dysfunctional. It also left me with a form of anorexia, where I have no sensation of hunger and persistent nausea.
Now I usually grow my own, and produce high quality concentrates for my own use. I smoke flower, vape and dab strain specific concentrates. And I make edibles and balls for myself.
Every three or four hours I dose a dab or hit off the vape, and smoke a bowl of train wreck or another heavily seating strain flower before bed.
Cannabis has restored most of the life I lost.
From RxLeaf – At Home Dabs Recipe
Below is a recipe for how you can make solvent free, concentrated, dabs, like those mentioned above. Whether you’re consuming cannabis for fibromyalgia treatment or another condition, this consumption method will give you some of the strongest medicine.
By now you are likely well away just how helpful medical marijuana is for people suffering from chronic disease. One of the most significant benefits for patients and one that is often overlooked is the ability to make medicine at home, with a product you grew yourself. Plus, the time spent growing and caring for your plant might leave you feeling rested and restored.
What Do I Use A Dab For?
Patients using heavy hitting concentrates for the treatment of their medical conditions often prefer to “dab.” Dabbing is a vaping technique mentioned in the patient profile above. This patient dabs, alongside other methods, for the treatment of his fibromyalgia, seizures, and neuropathy. But buying dab-able concentrates at a dispensary can become quite expensive. Not to mention dabs are frequently made with butane, ethanol, and other solvents.
If you need highly concentrated medical marijuana, you’ll want to avoid these contaminated concentrates. Instead of paying someone else to make a sub-par product, why not make it at home?
When you’re preparing to dab, remember a few things. Basically, dabs are cannabis concentrate. If you’re going to use it then, know to go light at first, and then take it a little bit at a time. The dab will probably hit fast and hard.
Don’t forget – Dabs aren’t just to get high. Any strain, including a non-intoxicating CBD heavy one, can be used for a dab, in order to get maximum pain relief and medicinal benefits as quickly as possible. So, what are you waiting for? use the recipe below, and go heal yourself using the technique that restored the patient above.
Here’s how to make pure solvent-free rosin, and never rely on dispensary concentrates again.
What You’ll Need:
- Hair Straightener (large flat ceramic blades)
- Parchment paper (10” x 10” roughly)
- Metal Scrapper (nail, or dab tool)
- 1 gram cannabis flower or hash (or more)
- Set the hair straightener to high, set aside to heat up.
- Place the cannabis flower, or hash, in the center of the parchment paper. Carefully fold the sides of the paper over the product, like an envelope.
- Place the packet between the ceramic straightener blades, and press down with increasing pressure. You may need to use your full body weight as you press the blades together as hard as possible.
- Hold for 10-15 seconds.
- Release, and gently unfold the paper.
- Remove the nug, and carefully scrape the liquid off the parchment using the metal tool.
- You may be able to repress the flower, up to two times more.
- Dab immediately, or store in a small sealed container for later.
