Sure, cookies are a great way to get high if you don’t like to smoke. But, these are also a really perfect way to create medicine that is discrete and portable.
To make your own batch of these delicious cannabis cookies, you’ll have to make cannabis infused butter, more popularly known as cannabutter. You can use cannabutter as a replacement for butter in your favorite cookie recipe, or make cannabis chocolate chip cookies.
How to Make Cannabutter for Weed Cookies
½ ounce cannabis
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 cup hot water
Set up your double broiler to melt 2 sticks of unsalted butter under low to medium heat. Allow the water to heat up and its steam to slowly melt the butter.
While the butter is melting, prepare the cannabis by grounding ½ ounce of cannabis, removing its stems and seeds. Fold a cheesecloth in half twice and place the ground marijuana in the center of the cheese cloth.
Put the marijuana tea bag into the melted butter, ensuring that it fits into the bowl. If you have to, push it down with a spoon so it’s completely saturated with the butter.
Add 1 cup of hot water to the double broiler with the butter and cannabis tea bag. This will cover the cannabis with liquid and help release the plant’s THC.
Cover the bowl and allow the cannabis to steep in the water and butter for 4 to 6 hours. Remember that the longer you leave the cannabis in the bowl, the more potent the resulting cannabutter will be.
When the steeping process is done, you’ll notice that the butter will now have a green-ish Remove it from the heat and allow the butterto cool down to room temperature.
Once the butter cools down to room temperature, it will be back to its solid form. The water that you added early on will be at the bottom of the bowl. Drain away the water.
